Instrument Rental

If you are not sure or ready to purchase an instrument. Why not take an advantage of our new hire scheme? Pay a deposit on your chosen instrument and pay monthly by standing order from as little as £10 per month. 

All Rental Agreements must be completed before hiring an instrument.

Two forms of ID with your home address on and a valid debit/credit card will be required to hire an instrument. Subject to status, terms and conditions apply, written details on request.

FAQ

Which instruments are available for hire?

We have high quality violins and cellos of all sizes available for hire. The instruments have been well maintained and regularly checked by luthiers.

How long can I rent an instrument?

There is no maximum rental period. However, the contract is for a minimum of 3 months.

Can I set up my rental in advance?

Yes, one of the many advantages of our rental scheme is that you can set up your agreement in advance. When we call you to take the initial payment, simply tell us on what date you wish to collect or take delivery of the instrument. The monthly standing order payments will start a month after that date. This allows you to organise everything with us in advance and receive the instrument when you need it, saving unnecessary cost and inconvenience.

How are further payments made?

Payments are made monthly by standing order.

Can I change my rental instrument, for example from a ¼ to a ½ violin outfit?

Yes. Simply let us know what you want to change to, return the instrument to us and we will send you the replacement (an extra carriage charge will apply). Assuming the replacement instrument has the same monthly rental charge, it will not be necessary to make any changes to the Standing Order.

Can I purchase the instrument?

Yes. A discount may be given if an instrument is bought at a later date. Please see our Terms and Conditions for more details.

Is the instrument insured?

No, instrument is not insured by us so you are responsible for any loss or damage.

What happens if the instrument needs repairing?

We will service the instrument free of charge except where it has been damaged. You are responsible for any costs incurred in returning the instrument to us for service or repair. All repairs must be carried out by us.

What happens if I wish to cancel the rental agreement?

In order to terminate the rental agreement, simply return the instrument to us with a copy of your rental agreement and any accessories (excluding reeds where applicable). Assuming there are no problems with the instrument, you have rented for a minimum of 3 months, and your rental payments are up to date, we will then refund your deposit onto the credit or debit card you used to make your original payment.
