TEACHING STYLE & METHODS
Hampstead Music School helps students explore various musical styles including: classical, contemporary, jazz, chamber, orchestral, pop and folk. All potential students receive a discounted trial first lesson to evaluate their current musical level, and to discuss their goals and future musical aspirations.
Our experienced music teachers use a variety of teaching methods including Suzuki, Kodaly and traditional methods to help students reach their full potential and excel in their musical performance. By combining these styles, the music lessons give a more diverse understanding of instrumental technique, musical expression, range of dynamics and interpretation.
A typical 60-minute instrumental lesson comprises of working through scales, studies, pieces, sight-reading, technical exercises and aural training.
Depending on the teacher lessons can be offered in either English, German, Spanish, Italian, French, Korean or Chinese.
At Hampstead Music School, we believe it is important for students to gain practical experience in performing. We hold regular music recitals where our students can showcase their achievements and get accustomed to performing in front of an audience.
