Christian

Christian is a dedicated music teacher and accomplished clarinettist. He is currently pursuing a Master of Performance Course (MPerf) at the Royal College of Music, studying under the guidance of respected mentors Tim Lines, Richard Hosford, and Barnaby Robson.

Christian's musical journey began at a young age when he started playing the recorder at just five years old. He has further developed his musical skills by mastering the clarinet, saxophone, piano, and organ, demonstrating his proficiency as a multi-instrumentalist.

Hailing from a small village in Kent, Christian's musical talents quickly gained recognition. At the age of 12, he joined the Kent Youth Wind Orchestra, where he eventually took on the principal role. In 2015, he became the principal clarinet of the Kent County Youth Orchestra, working with esteemed conductors such as Michael Seal, Caroline Hobbs-Smith, and Natalia Luis-Bassa.

Christian's passion for music education became evident during his time at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, where he graduated with First Class Honours. He gained valuable experience in teaching both one-on-one and in group settings. His teaching approach focuses on creating enjoyable and informative lessons that cater to the unique needs of each student, helping them nurture their musical talents.

Christian Hoddinott is committed to guiding the next generation of musicians and sharing his enthusiasm for music. He is grateful for the support he has received from the Royal Philharmonic Society, which has enabled him to pursue his musical aspirations.
