Ella

Ella pursued her undergraduate degree at the Schulich School of Music at McGill University in Montréal, Canada, where she achieved her Bachelor of Music in Saxophone Performance. Following her undergraduate studies, she continued to expand her knowledge and skills, earning her Master of Music and Master of Performance (Saxophone) from the prestigious Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 2023.

From a young age, Ella was immersed in a musical environment, sparking her interest in various instruments. At just age 10, she began her saxophone journey, later mastering the flute, clarinet, and piano. This diverse musical background has allowed her to showcase her talents in multiple settings, performing in big bands, orchestras, and festivals in prominent cities such as LA, Montréal, and London. Additionally, she has been involved in several theatre productions, including notable shows like Shrek, 9 to 5: The Musical, and Roger and Hammerstein’s State Fair. Recently, Ella was part of the Epsom Playhouse production of The Hunchback of Notre Dame, where she contributed as Reed 1 performer.

Over the years, Ella's passion for music has extended beyond performance into the realm of composition and arranging. During her time at Guildhall, she had the opportunity to compose two pieces for the esteemed Bauhaus Band, under the guidance of her tutor and mentor, John Harle. Notably, her most recent composition, Via Italia, has been published by Saxtet Publications. Ella's compositional versatility is evident in her various works, which encompass small chamber ensembles, saxophone and piano compositions, solo saxophone pieces with electronic elements, saxophone quartets, and much more. Her strong affinity for composing music to complement video and film further showcases her creative versatility.

As an experienced tutor, Ella shares her passion for music with others, specialising in saxophone, clarinet, flute, and piano instruction. Moreover, she offers expertise in music theory and composition/arranging, providing her students with a well-rounded and comprehensive musical education.
