Florence

Florence works with music enthusiasts of all ages. She has been teaching for 15 years, running music playgroups and working as conductor at Opera Hong Kong Children’s Chorus, the Hong Kong Children’s Choir, community choirs, school choirs and churches. In the past years, she served as the music director of the Hong Kong Youth Choir, conductor of Hong Kong Baptist University Chorus, and the Hong Kong International Institute of Music. Florence also curated many concerts and art festivals.

She received her Master of Music at San Francisco State University and also studied at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. In 2016 Florence received a Ph.D. of Musicology and Choral Conducting, with research on the culture and music environment around the early 20th Century France.

Florence was the conductor and vocal coach of San Francisco State University’s Chorus, a member of San Francisco Symphony Chorus, a member and assistant conductor of Symphony Silicon Valley Chorale and Symphony Silicon Valley Singers. She also served as teaching assistant of aural training and musicianship classes at the university.

Florence actively performs as a choral conductor and soprano with diverse repertoire, her choral production was broadcasted by one of the leading classical music channel Mezzo.tv last year. She also appeared in performances as a vocalist in both classical and non-classical music events.
