April

April is a classically trained musician giving piano, flute, vocal and choir coaching. She studied Music Education at The Education University of Hong Kong. April is also a certified Orff Schulwerk Music Instructor and acquired a DipABRSM in Piano Teaching.

April has taught pupils of all ages over 15 years and has developed a variety of teaching styles to meet each individual’s needs, not only keeping lessons fun and encouraging, but helping pupils to learn quick and effortlessly. A module to allow each student to develop their aural skills, technique and expressiveness harmoniously and efficiently. April develops her teaching curriculum and musicianship to inspire her students to become better musicians. She adopted different methodology, especially passionated about the Carl Orff approach.

She participated in various masterclasses of renowned educators such as Doug Goodkin and Leonardo Riveiro-Holgado. In 2014, she pursued her Orff studies in Sydney from the Australian National Council of Orff Schulwerk.

April has performed as a soloist and as a professional accompanist in the Hong Kong Schools Music Festival for many years, plays organ in church services and was also a flautist of the Hong Kong Symphonic Band.

Her experience in participation in numerous performances is shared with students to help them in preparing exams, competitions and recitals.
